15/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 15 December, the European Commission adopted Portugal’s Just Transition plan. €223.8 million from the ‘Just Transition Fund’ (JTF) will be allocated to the coastal regions of Alentejo and Middle Tagus and to the city of Matosinhos. On the shores of Alentejo, the envelope will be used to support research and innovation in SMEs and to invest in sustainable mobility. In Middle Tagus, the JTF will support innovative SMEs in emerging “green” sectors. In Matosinhos, the fund will finance the establishment of a new innovation centre dedicated to sustainable mobility, clean energy and the marine economy. Finally, the JTF will support employment through training in all these localities. (HS)
