07/12/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Wednesday 7 December that the European Investment Fund (EIF) of the European Investment Bank Group (EIB Group) will invest €50 million in the World Fund to support European climate technology start-ups. World Fund is Europe’s leading climate technology venture capital fund, founded in 2021 by Tim Schumacher, Daria Saharova, Craig Douglas and Danijel Višević. The European Commission states that the resources invested by the EIF in the World Fund come from its own funds, the new InvestEU programme and European regional mandates, including the Netherlands (DFF), Germany (ERP Special Fund) and Bavaria (LfA).
