The European Commission announced on Wednesday 7 December new calls under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), the Horizon Europe programme dedicated to supporting scientific excellence through grants to doctoral and postdoctoral researchers working in all disciplines.
The MSCA will have a budget of around €1,758 million for the next two years (€856 million in 2023 and €902 million in 2024). The MSCA have been allocated €6.6 billion under Horizon Europe as part of the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework for 2021-2027.
The €1,758 million will allow the MSCA to cover the five main MSCA actions that are part of the new Horizon Europe main work programme: the Doctoral Networks action for the implementation of doctoral programmes in the academic or business sector; the Postdoctoral Fellowships action to enable the mobility of young postdoctoral fellows wishing to carry out exploratory research and innovation projects; the Staff Exchanges action; the COFUND action for the co-funding of new or existing doctoral and postdoctoral fellowship programmes; and the MSCA and Citizens action which brings researchers and citizens together, notably during the European Researchers’ Night.
A cross-cutting initiative will be dedicated to Feedback to Policy.
