19/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission launched, on Wednesday 19 October, a new scoreboard to help policy makers at national and regional level to guide their policies and strategies in the tourism sector. This scoreboard, which includes a series of data-based indicators, should enable decision-makers and stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities in the sector, such as high seasonality or heavy reliance on visitors from only a few geographical origins. It should also identify the main commercial advantages, such as the excellent quality of the bathing water or the diversity of the tourism offer. The scoreboard, which responds to a request from Member States launched in 2021, will gradually be made available in all official EU languages, the European Commission said. (TM)
