TEN-T and high-speed rail lines on agenda of informal ministerial meeting in Prague

The EU Member States’ transport ministers will meet in Prague on Friday 21 October for an informal meeting. The format of the meeting will be enlarged with the presence of Ukrainian and Moldovan representatives. The Norwegian and Swiss ministers will also take part.

The competent ministers will take stock of the priorities of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council. Among the issues discussed, the development of high-speed rail lines should be given a prominent place.

In addition, the revision of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) (see EUROPE 13021/19) will be on the agenda of the Transport Ministers’ day.

Logically, the agenda will also impose several topics on the ministers, starting with the energy crisis and the consequences of Russia’s war of invasion in Ukraine (see EUROPE 13039/11).

The dossiers on which work is being carried out within the framework of the ‘Fit for 55’ package - such as the deployment of infrastructure for alternative fuels (see EUROPE 13035/24) or sustainable fuels in the aviation sector (see EUROPE 13039/10) - are also expected to be addressed by the Ministers during the two working sessions scheduled for the day. (Original version in French by Thomas Mangin)
