12/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 12 October, the Member States’ ambassadors to the EU reached an agreement on the revision of the temporary rules for airlines’ take-off and landing slots in the EU. As a reminder, these rules provide for a gradual return to the rules that were in force before the Covid-19 pandemic, as air traffic resumes. The text also provides that the minimum slot utilisation rates may be reviewed by the European Commission in the event that air traffic falls below 80% of the 2019 level due to an epidemiological situation, the consequences of the war in Ukraine or a natural disaster. The European Parliament adopted its position on 6 October (see EUROPE 13037/14). (TM)
