18/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 18 July, the Council of the European Union approved the European Commission’s proposal for a regulation (see EUROPE 12968/26) to suspend import tariffs on seven Moldovan agricultural products for one year. This concerns imports of tomatoes, apples, plums, cherries, garlic, table grapes and grape juice, which were previously subject to tariff quotas under the EU-Moldova Association Agreement. MEPs gave the green light to this temporary liberalisation measure on 5 July (see EUROPE 12986/9). It will enter into force the day after its publication in the Official Journal of the EU. (LM)
