08/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 8 July, the Single Resolution Board announced that the Single Resolution Fund (SRF), the financial arm of the resolution component of the eurozone banking union plus Croatia and Bulgaria, is now endowed with €66 billion, with contributions for 2022 amounting to €13.7 billion from the industry. By the end of 2023, the SRF will have completed its ramp-up and should be endowed with around €80 billion, or 1% of the guaranteed bank deposits held by the banking groups active within the banking union. Since its creation in early 2016, it has not yet been mobilised to finance the resolution of a failing bank. (MB)
