06/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday, 6 July, the European Commission launched a consultation to review the European Union’s guidelines for the development of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). These guidelines, the Commission believes, should “better reflect” the geopolitical changes stemming from Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine. The Commission believes that the focus should be on the extension of four European transport corridors to Ukraine and Moldova, the removal of the TEN-T maps of Russia and Belarus from the regulation and the downgrading of the last kilometre of the core network sections at the borders between the Member States and Russia and Belarus. In addition, the issue of the development of track gauges according to EU standards for new railway lines should also be raised. See the consultation: https://aeur.eu/f/2ik (TM)
