29/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Wednesday 29 June that it had selected 135 transport infrastructure projects under the Connecting Europe Facility. The 135 proposals - selected from 399 projects - will have a budget of €5.4 billion, and will fund projects across the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) across the EU Member States. “These difficult times have reinforced the importance of our transport sector in the EU and of a seamless and well-connected infrastructure network”, said Transport Commissioner Adina Vălean. Against the backdrop of Russia’s war in Ukraine, a number of selected projects, notably in Slovakia and Poland, should facilitate the transport of goods between the EU and Ukraine. (TM)
