29/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – In a statement published on Tuesday 28 June, the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) has expressed its outrage at the behaviour of European multinationals that violate human rights in other parts of the world, according to the Global Rights Index 2022 edition of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC). In the Confederation’s opinion, the problem also lies with the European Commission, which is doing the “bare minimum” to improve corporate responsibility, including a “weak” draft directive (see EUROPE 12897/7) needing “major improvements to be effective”, according to the unions.
