29/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) updated its recommendations on contact tracing to prevent the transmission of monkeypox on Tuesday 28 June. For the ECDC, monkeypox is not a traditional sexually transmitted disease: “the virus takes the opportunities for close-contact transmission wherever they arise”. The ECDC provides recommendations for rapid identification and management of close contacts. The ECDC also presents the relevant indicators to be mobilised for the implementation of the ‘Early Diagnosis, Isolation and Contact Tracing’ strategy. The Centre encourages joint work with health authorities and sexual health specialists as well as collaboration with civil society and communities. See the report: https://aeur.eu/f/2e5 (EV)
