23/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament approved, on Thursday 23 June, aid under the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) for both France and Greece. 17.7 million euros is planed for 1,580 Air France employees made redundant due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and two of the company’s subsidiaries in 16 French regions. The report by Fabienne Keller (Renew Europe, France) on this proposal was adopted with 564 votes in favour, 18 against and 16 abstentions. For Greece, 1.5 million euros in aid is provided to support 206 workers made redundant by six companies producing household appliances in the Attica region (report by Polish ECR member Bogdan Rzońca, adopted with 564 votes in favour, 26 against and 6 abstentions).
