Frankfurt Institute examines possible monetary measures to support Ukrainian population and institutions 

11/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – The president of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, said on Thursday 10 March that the Frankfurt-based institution was exploring, with the European Commission, possible monetary measures, such as swap lines and repo lines, to support Ukrainians and the Ukrainian authorities facing the Russian invasion of their country (see EUROPE 12908/23). Asked about the restrictions on the convertibility of the Ukrainian hryvnia into euros faced by Ukrainian refugees in the EU (see EUROPE 12903/10), Ms Lagarde hoped that the ECB would be able to announce specific tools in the coming days.
