European Parliament calls for “immediate” application of Rule of Law Conditionality Mechanism

On Thursday 10 March the European Parliament called on the European Commission to “take urgent action and immediately apply” the Rule of Law Conditionality Mechanism “by sending a written notification to the countries concerned”, namely Poland and Hungary.

By adopting (478 votes in favour, 155 against and 29 abstentions) a resolution by the EPP, S&D, Renew Europe and The Left groups on the follow-up to the EU Court of Justice judgements rejecting Poland and Hungary’s appeal...
