10/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) counted, midday Thursday 10 March, 2,316,002 refugees who have fled Ukraine since the beginning of the war, the “fastest flow on the European continent since the Second World War”, according to the High Commissioner, Filippo Grandi, quoted by AFP. According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), over 112,000 of the more than 2 million refugees are third country nationals. In France, on 10 March, the government said it expected to take in between 50,000 and 100,000 refugees. French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin also welcomed the UK’s decision to ease visa requirements for Ukrainians. Ukrainians with biometric passports will be able to enter the UK and solutions will be found for those without biometric passports. (SP)
