10/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – On the evening of Wednesday 9 March, the European Parliament approved the creation of a new special committee on foreign interference in all democratic processes in the European Union, including disinformation (INGE 2), by 614 votes to 42 with 34 abstentions. Earlier in the day, MEPs adopted by 552 votes to 81 with 60 abstentions the report by Sandra Kalniete (EPP, Latvia) on foreign interference in all democratic processes in the European Union (see EUROPE 12906/12), which calls on the EU to take measures to combat such interference and disinformation (cf. other news).
