04/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – Seventeen employers’ and industry associations (BusinessEurope, Ceemet, Applia, Capiel, CECE, CEMA, Cecimo, Cocir, DigitalEurope, EFIC, EGMF, EuropGene, Europump, FEM, EUnited, Orgalim, pneurope) issued a joint statement on Monday 4 October outlining their common priorities for the revision of the Machinery Directive (see EUROPE 12707/32). They fully support the plan to introduce a regulation, as this would allow for a level playing field and thus facilitate the free movement of goods within the single market. However, they reject the introduction of mandatory third-party conformity assessment, insist on technological neutrality and a clear transition period: https://bit.ly/3uDi9Yi (PH)
