18/06/2021 (Agence Europe) – The Member States of the EU Space Programme Agency (EUSPA) elected Václav Kobera as Chairman of the EU Agency’s Management Board on Thursday 17 June. A Czech national, Mr Kobera has “extensive experience” in space and satellite navigation. He has held several senior positions in the public sector in the national Ministry of Transport. The election was welcomed by the Executive Director, Rodrigo da Costa, who recalled the crucial period in which the Agency is undergoing a successful transformation in the context of the implementation of the EU Space Programme (see EUROPE 12726/10). The Management Board (composed of representatives of the Member States, the European Commission and the European Parliament) meets twice a year. It is the decision-making body for the budget and the work programme. (PH)
