11/05/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 10 May the European Parliament’s Committee on Budgets approved the proposal to mobilise the European Union Solidarity Fund to grant financial assistance to Greece and France for natural disasters between August and October 2020, as well as to 17 Member States and three acceding countries for the public health emergency caused by Covid-19 in 2020 (see EUROPE 12705/12). The aid will be distributed as follows: €397.5 million to contribute to the efforts of 17 Member States and three acceding countries to safeguard public health by combating the coronavirus and €86.7 million for natural disasters in France and Greece (of which €59.3 million for France, following storm Alex) (LC)
