05/05/2021 (Agence Europe) – According to a report by the European Union’s Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) published on Tuesday 4 May, Turkey’s system for controlling poultry meat production meets the requirements of EU rules. According to the report, the Turkish authorities have adequately assessed the risk of notifiable diseases in poultry and have taken measures and actions to manage this risk. “Although the quality management system of the laboratory network and the records keeping of official controls are areas for improvement, the overall system provides the necessary animal health guarantees required for the current export certification into the EU market”, the FVO experts consider. The report contains a number of recommendations to the Turkish authorities to address the shortcomings identified. Link to the FVO report: https://bit.ly/3nQEGxx (LC)
