31/03/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission has pledged to present a proposal for a revision of Regulation 1141/2014 “on the statute and funding of European political parties and European political foundations” by the end of the summer. After unveiling its roadmap on the subject in mid-March (see EUROPE 12681/26), the institution opened a public consultation on Tuesday 30 March that will last almost two months. This consultation, the Commission explains, aims in particular to gather contributions on “citizens’ involvement in European politics, funding of European political parties and foundations, transparency of affiliations between European political parties and national parties, and transparency of gender representation”. The roadmap will remain open for comment until 14 April. To access both forms: http://bit.ly/38S2sCQ (AC)
