11/03/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European External Action Service (EEAS) announced that, on Wednesday, 10 March, the EU and Mongolia launched their first annual political dialogue, calling it “another important step in a relationship that has further grown in strength over the past years”. According to the EEAS, this dialogue was an opportunity to deepen a comprehensive partnership and mutual understanding on engaging with China and Russia. The EU and Mongolia have also committed to further strengthening multilateral cooperation in the framework of the ASEAN Regional Forum, the OSCE, and ASEM. They also discussed the importance of connectivity—notably energy, transport, and digital connections—for overall economic growth and resilience as well as the need for a predictable, stable, and open investment climate.
