10/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – Two NGOs, Whistleblowing International in Berlin and the National Whistleblower Center in Washington DC, launched the European Center for Whistleblower Rights, the first organisation to seek stricter laws to protect whistleblowers in Europe, in connection with the Whistleblower Protection Directive (see EUROPE 12391/26), on Wednesday 9 December, International Anti-Corruption Day. At present, 13 EU countries - including Austria, Denmark, Germany and Spain - have no protection for whistleblowers, the two organisations said. (PH)
