10/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – After a first ‘trilogue’ on 26 November, negotiators from the European Parliament and the German Presidency of the Council of the EU reached a political agreement on the European Commission’s proposal to create a temporary short-form “EU Recovery Prospectus” on Thursday, 10 December, during a second ‘trilogue’. This was the last missing piece for interinstitutional negotiations to be finalised on the whole package of targeted amendments to EU financial regulation, which the European Commission presented in July in order to help with economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic (see EUROPE 12535/11). The agreement must now be confirmed in both institutions. EUROPE will continue to follow this story. (MF)
