MEP József Szájer resigns after taking part in sex party, in violation of health restrictions

01/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – The MEP József Szájer acknowledged on Tuesday 1 December that he had taken part in a private sex party in Brussels, despite the Belgian health restrictions that were in place, as he confirmed the information published in the daily newspaper La Dernière Heure. “I was there”, said the Hungarian Christian Democrat, who announced his resignation this weekend without mentioning what had happened (see EUROPE 12612/28). He apologised to his family, colleagues and constituents, asking that his individual “ irresponsible” conduct did not show his country or his political family - Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's Fidesz party - in a bad light. (MB)
