01/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 1 December, Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski indicated that the European Commission will issue its recommendations to Member States on the common agricultural policy (CAP) strategic plans in mid-December. The situation of Member States in relation to the objectives of the ‘European Green Deal’ will be assessed in the recommendations. “The Commission will ask Member States to set national values for each of these objectives. The recommendations aim to help Member States develop strategic plans for the CAP that are fully compatible with the European Green Deal”, stressed the Commissioner for Agriculture before the European Parliament’s Committee on Agriculture. Mr Wojciechowski added that the recommendations will also be used to inform the debate at the national level on the objectives, outcomes, and interventions of future strategic plans. (LC)
