01/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – On 25 November, the European Commission adopted a regulation allowing Member States to reimburse €434 million to European farmers. This amount had initially been deducted from farmers’ direct payments during the 2020 budget year so as to create the ‘agricultural crisis reserve’. As this money was not used in the 2020 financial year, Member States can reimburse the amounts deducted from direct payments to farmers as from 1 December 2020. The deduction only applies to income support over €2,000 and does not yet apply to Croatia. (LC)
