01/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – In a document addressed to Member States (a copy of which has been obtained by EUROPE), the cabinet of President of the European Council Charles Michel calls for economic relations to be strengthened between the EU and the United States, considering that one of the most urgent challenges was to “create the conditions for a strong, sustainable, inclusive and resilient recovery of our economies”. The EU should present a constructive proposal for a positive trade agenda. “Issues such as growth policies, state aid, energy, export control and investment policies could also be part of a broader economic dialogue,” adds the cabinet, which also cites the digital economy. Finally, it considers re-engaging the United States in WTO reform to be a “top” priority. The European Commission will present its vision for the future of transatlantic relations on Wednesday, 2 December. See the document: https://bit.ly/36ojFTB (CG)
