04/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – Tomorrow the Council of Europe will start its 16th Conference of the Council of Ministers responsible for Sport by organising a high-level dialogue on the defence of values in sport. Five sessions are scheduled until the beginning of January (calendar: https://bit.ly/38buGJe ), with the revision of the European Sports Charter (adopted in 1992, revised in 2001, but out of step with recent developments) and human rights in sport as central themes. The Council of Europe has three legislative instruments devoted to sport: the Anti-Doping Convention, the Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions and the Convention on an Integrated Safety, Security and Services Approach at Sports Events. It has also established protocols with WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency), UEFA and FIFA. (VL)
