Pandemic continues to have impact on level of asylum claims being filed

14/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Asylum Support Office (EASO) confirmed on Wednesday 14 October in a new publication (https://bit.ly/350Hqzv), that the restrictive measures related to Covid-19 have continued to have an impact on asylum applications in the EU, which thus decreased slightly in August compared to July (almost 43,000 applications) and remain well below pre-pandemic levels.
