Tomáš Szunyog named as new EU Special Representative

30/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – on Thursday 30 July, the Council of the EU appointed Tomáš Szunyog as European Union Special Representative (EUSR) for Kosovo from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021. The 54-year-old Czech will replace Bulgarian Nataliya Apostolova, who has been at the post since 20 July 2016 (see EUROPE 11606/3). Until now, Mr Szunyog has been the Permanent Representative for the Czech Republic on the Political and Security Committee. (CG)
