17/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (Eumetsat) announced on Wednesday 17 June the update of the WEkEO V1 cloud platform, which provides a portfolio of data from the European Earth observation programme Copernicus and the Sentinel satellite. The platform provides harmonised data access, cloud infrastructure and user support. This platform aims to democratise access to Copernicus, in the context of the Commission's initiative launched in 2016 to develop five Copernicus Data and Information Access Services (DIAS). This is an important step in the exploitation of space data, which is the keystone of European space policy. (PH)
