17/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 17 June, the Council of the EU adopted conclusions on the crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic and the education and training sectors. In view of the restrictive measures and despite a meeting of the Ministers of Education on 23 June, the document was adopted by written procedure. The conclusions recognise the main challenges to education and training systems caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the immediate responses of Member States. They invite Member States to examine the possibilities for innovation and for accelerating digital transformation, as well as the development of the digital skills and competences of teachers and trainers. The conclusions recognise the need to ensure inclusion and equal opportunities and access to high quality education and training for all. See the conclusions: https://bit.ly/2N5CrVt (SPj)
