17/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Comoros, Togo and Kyrgyzstan have signed debt service moratorium contracts with creditor countries lasting until 31 December 2020, the Paris Club announced on 15 and 16 June. These poorest countries were deemed eligible for the Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI), which was also approved by the G20 (see EUROPE 12503/20) in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. They committed to use the resources freed by this initiative to increase spending to mitigate the health, economic and social impact of the pandemic crisis and to call on all their other official bilateral creditors to treat debt service in accordance with the roadmap.
