European Parliament fact-finding mission from 26 to 28 February to assess alleged conflict of interest involving Andrej Babiš

24/01/2020 (Agence Europe)From 26 to 28 February, members of the European Parliament's Committee on Budgetary Control, led by Chairwoman Monika Hohlmeier (EPP, Germany), will carry out a fact-finding mission in the Czech Republic to assess the compliance of Czech rules with EU rules on the disbursement of EU funds. The mission will verify the facts about the alleged conflict of interest involving the Czech Prime Minister, Andrej Babiš (see EUROPE 12405/12). On Tuesday 28 January, the members of this committee will have an exchange of views in preparation for the mission in question. On Wednesday 15 January in Strasbourg, the European Parliament called for action to put an end to the potential conflict of interest involving Andrej Babiš, who is accused of having made money from EU agricultural and cohesion funds (see EUROPE 12393/5).
