24/01/2020 (Agence Europe) – A seminar on how to ensure the coexistence between fishing activities and offshore wind farms took place on 22 January in Brussels at the European Parliament, the Europêche organization announced. The event was organized at the invitation of MEP Peter van Dalen (ECR, Netherlands), Vice-Char of Parliament’s Committee on Fisheries. It brought together a wide range of stakeholders (scientists, wind industry representatives, NGOs, fishers). EU fishers have voiced their concerns about the increasing competition in the maritime space, which is leading to the loss of valuable fishing grounds and access to healthy stocks.
