12/11/2019 (Agence Europe) – A delegation from the European Parliament, led by Evelyn Regner (S&D Austria, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Women) and Norbert Neuser (S&D Germany, member of the Committee on Development), is in Nairobi (12-14 November) to participate in sessions on sexual and reproductive healthcare rights at the 25th United Nations Conference on Population and Development (ICPD25). Five themes are on the agenda: universal access to healthcare and to sexual and reproductive rights, funding required to implement the ICPD Programme of Action, using demographic diversity to stimulate economic growth and achieve sustainable development, ending gender-based violence and respecting the right to sexual and reproductive health, even in contexts of humanitarian crisis.
