19/09/2019 (Agence Europe) – European airports, represented by the Airports Council International Europe (ACI Europe), have called on the next European Commission, on Thursday 19 September, to make the Aviation Security Strategy a political priority. “We have been pretty successful over the past years in ensuring that our aviation security system effectively protects citizens. But, this is no time to rest on our laurels”, said Olivier Jankovec, the organization's Executive Director. “The security threat in Europe remains very significant – and it has become more complex and diverse”, he added. For ACI Europe, this includes focusing on innovation in this framework. To this end, the EU should cooperate even more with industry. (LT)
