Commission approves Slovak project for partial compensation of energy-intensive companies

On Thursday 19 September, the European Commission authorised the Slovak government to partially compensate energy-intensive companies that contribute financially to support the production of renewable energy.

The scheme, which will run until 31 December 2029 and has a provisional budget of 120 million euros for 2019 to 2021, will benefit companies operating in Slovakia in energy-intensive sectors with the highest exposure to international trade. Beneficiaries will receive compensation of...
