EU/Cuba Joint Council. – Maintain momentum in the implementation of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement. – Trade and investment. – Regional and global issues (Latin America, Caribbean, regional integration and coordination in multilateral fora on climate change, sustainable development, etc.).
Brussels. European Parliament. Commission activities (through 12/09). – SEDE: discussion with representatives of the EEAS, NATO and the UN, in particular on cross-border security issues, hybrid threats and enhanced EU/NATO cooperation. – LAW: discussion with the EU Special Representative for Human Rights, Eamon Gilmore (strengthening parliamentary scrutiny of EU human rights policies, difficulties encountered by the Special Representative during his mandate).

Luxembourg. * Court of Justice of the EU. #Rulings: – C-683/17 (Cofemel – can copyright protection be granted to designs solely on the ground that, beyond their utilitarian purpose, they produce a specific aesthetic effect?); – C-299/17 (VG Media – compliance with EU law of German rules prohibiting search engines from providing extracts of press products without prior authorisation from the publisher). #Conclusions: – C-482/18 (Google Ireland – compliance with EU law of the fine provided for by the Hungarian Advertising Tax Act for non-registration of a foreign company). – C-C-524/18 (Dr Wilmar Schwabe – should the health benefits claimed by food be supported by scientific evidence?).
