22/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 22 July, the European Commission published an updated Communication on the implementation of its decisions on the recovery of State aid incompatible with European Union law. This replaces the notice tabled in 2007. Aimed primarily at national authorities, this text explains the rules and procedures governing the recovery of unlawful State aid and outlines the Commission's way of working with these national authorities. This new communication is more precise than that of 2007, in particular as regards quantifying the aid recovered or identifying companies that have benefited from a measure that is incompatible with EU law.
