14/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – The EU Council adopted on Monday 13 May, the EU Annual Report on Human Rights and Democracy in the World 2018. This report shows that 2018, which was the year of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, was not a very good one in this area, where threats and violations against journalists and other media professionals increased. However, according to the report, the EU has also made progress, citing in particular the ‘Good Human Rights Stories’ initiative (see EUROPE 12106/19).
