28/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – As announced by EUROPE (see EUROPE 12099), the EU and 13 countries (Argentina, Burkina Faso, Cap-Verde, Chile, Gambia, Indonesia, Peru, Norway, New Zealand, South Korea, Georgia, Tunisia and Uruguay) launched an appeal on Thursday 27 September in a backdrop to the UN General Assembly in favour of the inter-regional Good Human Rights Stories initiative. This initiative seeks to promote and protect universal human rights stories throughout the world. It is based on the celebration of the individual and inter-regional appropriation of the universality and indivisibility of human rights, by sharing positive examples of policies in this domain. Participants made a commitment to continuing their work on the basis of thematic cooperation, particularly at the Council of Human Rights. (CG)
