28/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 28 September the Commissioner for Transport, Violeta Bulc, made a visit to Space X, the US company based in California at the cutting edge of reusable launcher technology. Speaking on Twitter, the Commissioner stated "Aviation & space sectors can no longer work in isolation”. She also said that the EU and USA “must engage closely to co-shape global standards, and prepare for the cross-cutting technological & regulatory challenges”. Although the Commissioner considers she has the support of industry, some European Space sector actors have regularly criticised the non-reciprocity of the US when it came to acquiring Space technologies (see EUROPE 11798, 12100).
