14/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 14 May, the European Network of Rail Infrastructure Managers published a report on train performance in several European countries, based on results provided by 15 national organisations (Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) over the period 2012-2017. In particular, this document informs us that in 2017, 91% of passenger trains arrived on time in the targeted countries (68% for freight trains). In addition, 77% of the kilometres travelled by train in these countries in 2017 were travelled by trains powered by electricity. Furthermore, on average, 67% of the network (in kilometres) was electrified in these territories, despite significant differences between States.
