14/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – The EU Council formally and definitively adopted, on Tuesday 14 May, the new European rules on the interoperability of information systems, it said in a statement. These are precisely two regulations organising interoperability between European databases, one in the field of visas and border management, the other in the field of police cooperation and asylum and migration. The new rules set up a European search portal that will allow simultaneous searches in the different databases, a biometric correspondence service and also a multiple identity detector to combat identity theft.
