02/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – The British Labour Party decided on Tuesday 30 April not to support in its manifesto for the European elections a second referendum on Brexit if it fails to obtain the necessary changes to the agreement on an orderly exit of the United Kingdom defended by Prime Minister Theresa May or if it does not obtain parliamentary elections. More than 100 Labour MPs had asked the party leadership to support the organization of a second referendum or a second popular vote to confirm the agreement on an orderly exit. The leadership of the party led by James Corbyn therefore opted to keep this path of a second referendum as an option and not as a guarantee. (SP)
