02/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – At a meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Anti-Dumping Practices Committee in Geneva on Wednesday 1 May, the European Union warned Colombia of possible actions, including the use of WTO dispute settlement, in response to Colombia's decision to impose anti-dumping duties on frozen chips from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands (see EUROPE 12134/3). At the meeting, the EU also pointed out "significant procedural shortcomings in the investigation at all levels", stressing that if Colombia had correctly compared prices no tariffs would have been applied, reported a source close to the talks. The Colombian representative replied by promising that these concerns would be taken into account in the ongoing review of these anti-dumping measures. (HD)
