15/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 15 April, the European Commission approved an Irish scheme to support heat generation from two renewable technologies: biomass and anaerobic digestion. This aid is aimed at several groups, such as industry, agriculture and commerce. The beneficiaries of the measure will be allocated an amount for the useful renewable heat generated over 15 years. In view of the fact that this aid is proportionate and will contribute to the environmental and energy objectives without unduly distorting competition, the Commission concluded that it was compatible with the guidelines on State aid for environmental protection and energy.
